Secondly, the impact is now seen in rural areas in a big way and the ability of the existing rural health infrastructure to respond to this outbreak is a big question mark. Oxygen cylinders and beds are all being sold for many thousands and lakhs. Firstly, unlike the first wave, when the impact of lock-down was the major cause of devastation, this time, the infection and the required treatment is causing damage to life as well as household saving of persons and families.
